It Was The Holiday Season After All -When Anything Magical Could Happen

The "Dollies" love stories and asked me to post "Theo's" Christmas story from December 2012 again.  So, here it is for the "Dollies."

As I was walking the aisles of BJ's I could hear someone's name being called and, funny thing, it sounded like mine. Someone was calling "Linda." For sure they couldn't have meant me. After all I didn't know anyone at BJ's other than hubby and he was in another aisle. So, I looked around, but there was no one here but me. Odd. So, I kept walking.

The closer I got to the end of the aisle the louder the name calling got. Someone was definitely calling for "Linda." I heard, "Over here, Linda. Look over here." I didn't see anything. Just a BIG white box.

Someone said, "I'm in here, Linda. Look in here." So, foolishly I did. Sitting inside the BIG white box was a HUGE (and I do mean HUGE) white teddy bear.

"Well, hello there," I said.

"Hello, Linda. I'm T.T.D. which stands for Theodore Teddy Bear. Theo for short."

I said, "Nice to meet you Theo. What are you doing in there and why are you calling my name?"

'Well," he said, "I've been waiting a long time for you. Waiting for you to take me home."

"Home to my house," I replied.

"Well, yes," he replied, "that is home after all isn't it?"

"Oh, Theo. I would LOVE to take you home with me. You're so adorable, so BIG, and so CUDDLY. Who could resist you? Certainly not me. Plus, you'd be perfect for my dining room North Pole Christmas scene. But...."

"Well," Theo said, "What's the problem?"

Another Free Coloring Book From The Dollies - Happy Holidays Free Coloring Pages and Printables Pages E-Book For An Adorable Trio Of Angels

Who doesn't love an adorable trio of angels?  Especially at Christmas time.

"Sophisticated Gwen", "Happy Molly Angel", and "Who Me? Angel Angela" are a very unusual group of angels. Very unusual indeed.

You see, they aren't at all alike. In fact, they are as different as, well - angels can be.

"Sophisticated Gwen" is the epitome of sophistication and style. She is very much in "vogue" and aware of the latest trends in fashion. Her special charge is to protect all the "high fashion models" out there. It's a big task as, let's just say, the "high fashion models" don't always behave themselves.

"Happy Molly Angel" could care less about fashion. In fact, style and fashion mean nothing to her. She'd much rather spend her day crafting up a storm and doesn't care if she breaks a nail or gets her hands messy. In fact, it doesn't even matter to her if her clothes get messy. Sometimes the messier the better. Her special charge is all the crafters out there. It's a tall order as there are millions and millions of them.

"Who Me? Angel Angela" isn't quite sure why she's here or what her special mission is. When asked to do something she inevitably answers "Who Me?" She's a shy as a mouse and doesn't have a lot of confidence. She's not sure that she's really good at anything in particular and isn't too sure that she'll be able to fulfill her mission. Her charge is all the shy people out there.

A Free Coloring Pages and Printables Pages E-Book For The Candleweeds

If ever there was unusual cluster of wood-crafts it would have to be the Candleweeds Family. There's Will, Larry, Bill, Harry, Barry, and Phil.

They were born several years ago and were made from upside down unpainted candle cup holders I saw at a local craft store.  I was looking for a quick and easy craft project that I could make with my mother.  Something that could be created in a couple of hours. Something we could do on one of the crafting days we liked to have.

Unfortunately, I never got a chance to make these with my Mom so I decided to make them myself and then create free e-patterns to share.

After creating the free e-patterns I decided to create free coloring and printable pages so you could color your favorite Candleweed or cut out their printable.  They're a fun group of individuals who just want you to have fun with them.

Bill is the most artistic sibling in the Candleweed Family.  He loves art and has had a natural talent for drawing anything he sees since he was a baby.  He loves to ask the rest of his siblings to pose for him.  His free e-pattern is here.

Harry is the most introverted of the Candleweed Family siblings.  He's very shy and doesn't like to draw any attention to himself - let alone be the brunt of one of Larry's practical jokes.  His free e-pattern is here.

It Was A Graveyard Smash! They Were Doing The Monster Mash!

The other day I just had a feeling that the day was not going to be a normally peaceful day.

I don't know why - just a feeling I got.

But, as the morning progressed and nothing strange had happened I started to think the day was going to be okay.

That was foolish on my part.

You see, the day turned out to be anything but normal. It was actually a cool, crisp day to the start of Fall which was a pleasant relief from all the hot, humid days we've been experiencing.

So, hubby and I decided to go for a walk. Since it was so beautiful out we decided to go for a long, leisurely stroll - and that was our mistake!

As we were pulling into the driveway hubby and I got a sense that something wasn't right. The ground was shaking and the house was being rocked off it's foundation.

And, we do mean off its' foundation - hard as that may seem for you to believe.

We looked at each other and said,  "what on heaven's earth is going on?" The house was literally rocking to and fro.

As we gingerly stepped out of the car we realized it couldn't be an earthquake as the ground under our feet wasn't moving - thank goodness for that! But, the house was still rockin to and fro!

YIKES!

And, out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw movement in the windows. Not just movement in one window - but, all of the windows. As if someone were peeking out the windows and realized too late they had been seen. Now we knew something was going on inside the house.

And, then we heard it - LOUD music.

Not just any music, but the song "The Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Pickett was playing louder than was acceptable in our neighborhood.

We were surprised that we hadn't heard the LOUD music as we were driving up the street.

A Free Coloring Pages and Printables Pages E-Book For The Stick'em & Collect' em Dolls

My Mother and I did a lot of shopping together and thought that, instead of shopping, it would be nice every once in awhile to get together for a few hours a day to complete a quick and easy craft project.   So, I put together a few ideas that I thought might be fun to do together.

One of the quick and easy craft projects I thought we could do was to make a collection of little doll ornaments made out of popsicle sticks.  Unfortunately my Mom and I never got to put them together for one of our crafting days so I decided put them together and create free e-patterns to share.

So, please meet the Stick'Em and Collect'Em Series of doll ornaments.

If ever there was a "wild and crazy" bunch of dolls it would have to be the "Stick'em and Collect'em Series" of wood stick doll ornaments.

They love to be collected and can will fit in with any primitive, country, Victorian, shabby/chic, or vintage home decor.

They just love to hang out with each other.

Stick'em and collect'em. They'll fit right in.

"Susie, Stick'em & Collect'em" is the prankster of the group.  She just loves a good joke and loves punking her friends.  Watch out she may pull a prank on you.  Her free e-pattern is here.

"Sammy, Stick'em & Collect'em" is the most inquisitive of the stick dolls.  She's always wondering why this or why that.  So much so that it drives the other stick dolls crazy.  She's probably got a question for you.  Her free e-pattern is here.

"Wanna Quilt? Annie" NEW Handmade Doll and E-Pattern

Well, they don't get any cheerier or happy go lucky than "Wanna Quilt? Annie"

"Wanna Quilt? Annie" could be called the happiest crafter around. She loves to craft and he specialty is quilting. In fact, she really LOVES to crazy quilt.

Crazy quilting requires a lot of time to do especially if you love to embroider parts of your quilt. Sometimes "Wanna Quilt? Annie" just doesn't have time to invest in a crazy quilt so she'll just make a patchwork quilt instead.

She always carries her bag of fat quarters around with her a she never knows when she may just squeeze in a few minutes here or there to do some crazy quilting. It could be waiting for the school bus, during her lunch hour, or in study hall.

And, since she's the President of the "quilting bee" group that always meets for an hour after school she always need to be ready to work on her quilt.

"Wanna Quilt? Annie" is a 14" country Annie doll. She is a self-sitting cloth doll with a cloth body and embroidered face. Her head is fastened in an upwards position to her neck.

"Wanna Quilt? Annie, is wearing fringed and gathered bloomers and her red striped boots are cross tied with DMC Embroidery floss. She is wearing her favorite denim dress that is gathered at the waist with two pockets in the front that are decorated with jute bows. Her denim dress is gathered at the sleeves and neck.

Annie's beautiful head sits atop her shoulders in an upright position. She couldn't be any happier in the world. A small scarf is wrapped around her neck and tied in a knot in the front and two large scarves are wrapped around her shoulders and tied in loose knots in the front.

Annie has a mass of thick, curly raggedy read hair all over her head. Her fat quarters bag is made of denim and has a square bottom and straps. It holds quite a few fat quarters. Annie is also holding one of the patchwork quilts that she just made.

"Wanna Quilt? Annie" is working on a new quilt and can hardly wait to show it to her "quilting bee" group. She couldn't be happier.

Read All About It, Andy! NEW Handmade Doll and E-Pattern

Well, they don't get any cheerier than "Read All About It, Andy!"

And, they don't get any more efficient than "Read All About It, Andy!

You see, "Read All About It, Andy!" just loves what he's doing and is on a mission.

His mission is to deliver all the newspapers to the homes on his route on time and then to sell all the remaining newspapers before he has to go to school.

"Read All About It, Andy!" always starts his day the same way and always manages to get everything done and get to school on time.

How does he do that?

Well, he's very efficient and organized.

His school clothes are laid out the night before. His lunch is made the night before and stored in the refrigerator and his newspaper sack is all ready to go and just waiting for the morning editions.

He did all his homework the previous afternoon and still had time for a few hours of playing. He's lovable, cherry, efficient, and very organized. Everything you would want in a newspaper delivery boy.

"Read All About It, Andy!" is a 14" country Andy doll. He is a self-sitting cloth doll with a cloth body and embroidered face. His head is fastened in an upwards position to his neck and he even has dimples on the sides of his chin.

Meet The Dollies - Nancy Dew Drop

"Nancy Dew Drop"and "Spike A Peek"  are members of the "Egg Muff Series" of cloth dolls.

They are a fun loving group of dolls that love to sneak around and maybe, every once in awhile, drop in unexpectedly.

You might find them peeking around a corner, peeking over the windowsill, peeking through a keyhole in a door, or sneaking into your room. You just never know.

Sometimes you might just catch a glimpse of their eyes and hair as they try to sneak a peek. If you listen carefully, you might even hear them laughing, even chuckling away.

Sometimes you might even catch them doing a little jig. You just never know what they may do.

They love to laugh. They love to have fun. But, most of all they love to play hide and peek! No, not hide and seek! Hide and peek!

Leave It To An Adorable Little Boy To Ruin The Summer Of White Faced Girls!

It was supposed to be the summer of white faced girls.  Sunflower's baby was to be the 4th cria born this summer and was supposed to be a girl!  At least that's what my sister was hoping for.

Well, leave it to a male to screw things up.  Rock Garden Alpacas 4th and final cria for the 2015 season was a little boy.  An adorable little boy.

Look at his adorable face.  How could you be mad at him for being a boy when he's the epitome of cuteness!  So, my sister named him Stachys.

Here's what my sister had to say about him:  "Here he is! Our 4th and final cria for the 2015 season. Introducing Rock Garden's Stachys a very fine, crimpy bright white full accoyo. Mom is our girl Sunflower and sire is Ideuma Creek Alpacas Accoyo Truman co-owned with Gentle Breeze Alpacas. Very exciting!!"

So Stachys joins his 3 cousins:  Gladiola, Peony, and Marigold.

Gladiola

So now my sister has three adorable female alpacas with beautiful white faces and one "cute as a button" little boy..

But, We Want A Dog!

"Come on Linda!"

"PLEASE! PRETTY, PLEASE!"

"Absolutely, Not!"

"But, we want a dog. We promise to take good care of it!"

"Yeah, right! Like I haven't heard that before."

I knew better and knew that there was no way I was going to get the "dollies" a dog. A living, breathing mammal that had real needs being taken care of by a group of inanimate "dollies." I don't think so. No matter how much they beg me I will not give in to this demand.

"PLEASE!"

"NO! Now leave me alone. I'm busy!"

"Aw.........!"

"That means you, too, Doris Marie."

"Okay, Linda. I'll be on my way," Doris responded. "I just thought I'd mention something I saw the other day while surfing the Internet. It might be the solution to giving the "dollies" a pet without really having to worry about it being taken care of."

"Hmmm...," Linda responded. "What exactly is your idea?"

I was intrigued and knew that if Doris Marie was suggesting it that it probably was a well thought out idea. She was smart as a whip, practical, and very logical in everything she did. So, it had to be good. Right?

So, I responded, "Okay, Doris Marie. Let's hear it."

"Well, given how the "dollies" can never decide on anything amongst themselves I thought that selecting either an interactive dog or interactive cat would be a problem. The girls would all want the kitten and the boys would all want the dog. They'd never agree," Doris said.

She continued, "Then I found something they could keep on their blog and watch every day. No disputing. No complaining about not having a pet. No "which pet" choices to make. Is that wonderful or what?"

"That's a brilliant idea, Doris Marie," Linda responded. "I Love it. Yes, yes - a virtual pet. I'm going to get it right now."

So, I did and here it is. I hope you and all the "dollies" love it.

How cute is that!

It's The Summer Of White Faced Girls - More Alpaca Cousins For The "Dollies"

It's the summer of beautiful white faced girls.  My sister has yet another beautiful alpaca baby girl with a white face named Gladiola.   Now she has a trio of white faced alpaca girls: Gladiola, Peony, and Marigold.

Gladiola is Zinnia's 2nd offspring and it looks like she has her mother's beautiful colored fiber.

Now my sister won't have any excuse for not giving me some more of the fiber I love using for doll hair. Hint! Hint!  Hope you're reading this baby sister.

Isn't Gladiola beautiful?

It's going to be hard tellling her apart from Peony, and Marigold - both shown below.

Peony

Marigold

Here's what my sister had to say about Gladiola, "Some excitement on the farm today - our girl Zinnia finally went into labor (6 days late) only head and 1 leg presented; I had to go in; left leg was bent and down under pelvic bone - vet was on his way but I could not wait. I was able to straighten the leg and deliver a beautiful girl. I am SOOO proud of myself - the first time I was able to handle this! Mom and baby are doing fine.

Introducing our herd sire Cosmo's second cria - a girl, my husband Karl named Gladiola because we were so "glad" everything worked out fine and so "glad" the waiting is over!"

So now my sister has three adorable alpacas with beautiful white faces.

If you get a chance please visit my sister's two websites - Rock Garden Alpacas and Rock Garden Alpacas Fiber.

Another New Alpaca Addition - Peony - A Twin To Marigold

My sister has another new addition to her family.  Meet - Peony.

Isn't she beautiful?

Except for not having the white on her chest you really can't tell her apart from Marigold, shown in the picture below, who was born the end of May.

Here's what my sister had to say about Peony, "She is here! Rock Garden Alpacas Peony, born yesterday. This is our herd sire Cosmo's first cria - he is Full Accoyo white and her dam is our Gianna's Peruvian Ivy, Full Peruvian dark fawn. Isn't she beautiful.... Cosmo's second cria will be due in 3 weeks, can't wait to see that one!"

So now my sister has two adorable alpacas with what looks to be beautiful fiber colors.  I am definitely going to need lots of their fiber.  Hint... Hint...

If you get a chance please visit my sister's two websites - Rock Garden Alpacas and Rock Garden Alpacas Fiber.

Another Cousin For The Dollies

My sister has a new addition to her family.

Meet Marigold.

What a little sweetie....

Cute as a button.

Wouldn't you agree?

I can't wait to see how beautiful her natural fiber will be.  I'm going to need lots of it.  Hint... Hint...

If you get a chance please visit my sister's two websites - Rock Garden Alpacas and Rock Garden Alpacas Fiber.
